  1. Turn off lights in rooms you aren\u2019t using<\/li>\n
  2. Switch light bulbs to energy-efficient CFLs<\/li>\n
  3. Only heat up the rooms that you are using<\/li>\n
  4. Shut doors of rooms that aren\u2019t occupied<\/li>\n
  5. Seal gaps in door frames and windowsills<\/li>\n
  6. Leave curtains open in the day to let in sunlight<\/li>\n
  7. Insulate the ceiling<\/li>\n
  8. Put a blanket on your geyser<\/li>\n
  9. Switch off the geyser during the day<\/li>\n
  10. Insulate your water pipes<\/li>\n
  11. Only use the dishwasher when you have a full load<\/li>\n
  12. Skip the pre-wash cycle for clothes that aren\u2019t very dirty<\/li>\n
  13. Reduce the temperature on the washing machine<\/li>\n
  14. Hang clothes on the line instead of using a tumble dryer<\/li>\n
  15. Unplug appliances that aren\u2019t being used<\/li>\n
  16. When replacing appliances choose energy-efficient ones<\/li>\n
  17. Drink hot beverages to warm up from the inside<\/li>\n
