In your suitcase
Packing can be a painful process especially when you have a lot to pack and little time to do so. Make sure that you start packing at least a week before your holiday and use this checklist to make your packing experience easy and less time consuming:
• Shorts and shirts
• Trousers, jeans and tights
• Skirts and dresses
• Jerseys/ Jackets and fleece tops
• Underwear and socks
• Workout clothes
• Trainers/walking shoes
• Sandals and flip flops
• Slippers, nightwear, dressing gown
• Swimwear and sarong
• Sun hat and sun glasses
• Bath towels and beach towels
• Wash bag
• Handbag
• Sewing kit
In your toiletry bag or vanity case
Pack the following to ensure you look your best:
• Medication and vitamins
• Contact lenses/reading glasses
• Sunscreen after-sun lotion, moisturiser (face and body), soap, shampoo and conditioner
• Shower cap and shower sponge/face cloth
• Hair comb, brush, hair bands, hair straightener and blow-dryer
• Razor/shaver, tweezers and shaving cream
• Nail polish remover, nail polish, nail file and nail clippers
• Tooth brush, tooth paste and electrical toothbrush charger
• Perfume, antiperspirant and aftershave
• Wet wipes, tissues, ear buds and cotton wool
• First aid kit (plasters, anti-septic cream, scissors, headache pills,Vaseline, diorama medication, antihistamine, anti-inflammatory medication ect)
• Feminine products
• Make-up and lip balm
• Jewellery and watch
Before you leave
Don’t be in a rush to leave the house, make sure that you leave with the following essential items:
• Drivers licence, ID book, medical aid card, petrol, credit and debit cards
• Cash for the road
• Address and details for holiday accommodation, Maps/GPS
• Mobile phone and camera charger
• Tablet/laptop, camera, camcorder, tripod and mobile phones
• Emergency numbers
• Earphones and memory card/stick
• Car jack and emergency triangle
To the beach
There is nothing worse than driving all the way down to your holiday beach destination only to find out that you are not prepared to hit the beach. Here is your beach checklist:
• Beach mat, fold-up chairs and beach umbrella
• Picnic basket, cooler box/bag, ice packs and flask
• Beach bag
• Snorkel, goggles and flippers
• Kite, beach ball, bucket and spade
• Sports equipment
• Magazines and books
