- Start at the top

In winter you spend a lot more time at home and you use more appliances to keep your home feeling toasty. An essential part of your winter home routine is to inspect and replace any worn plugs and chords on heaters and electric blankets, and to get your underfloor heating checked. Your chimney could be a potential fire hazard, so clean it of any debris before you light your first winter fire. Follow these safety tips to prevent the risk of starting an accidental fire at home.
- Garden clean-up
You never know what weather the winter season is going to bring. Walk around your garden and pay particular attention to the trees that are closest to your home. Trim weak or dead branches as these can easily break in a strong wind and potentially cause damage to the exterior of the building.
