You’ve taken tons of pictures of yourself, your dog, your kids and flowers. Other than posting picture after picture to Facebook, what else have you used your phone’s camera for?
Here is how you can use your phone to help you decorate, find your car and as a security weapon:
Cable Connections – Before removing the cables from your home theatre system, gaming console or the computer, it is a good idea to capture the connections with your phone camera. Then you won’t have problems plugging the cables again in the right ports as the pictures will show you “what goes where”.
Car Parking – Most shopping malls and airports here have parking garages, which can make it difficult to find your car after a day of shopping or when you return from a trip. When you park your car, simply take a photo of your parking number. Or look towards the escalator (or the exit door) and take a picture. This will save lot of effort (and time) when you return with all those heavy bags.
Important documents – Are you going overseas with your passport? Or don’t you always carry your ID book with you? Or do you forget your children’s ID numbers? Take photos of these documents so you can easily refer to them for important numbers and information or use it as a reference should they get lost or stolen.
Google Maps and Directions – You are traveling and need the driving directions from Google Maps onto your mobile phone. If your phone has no Internet or you are not too sure how to transfer data from computer to the phone, just open Google Maps, press F11 for full screen and click with your phone.
Rent A Car – If you are taking a car on rent, capture all the areas with dents and scratches so that you don’t run into a dispute when returning the car to the agent.
Security Weapon – Before you board a taxi in some unknown place, take a picture of the license plate and driver details that are generally written near the passenger seat. Email the picture to your spouse or friend as a security measure.
Home Decorating – Use your camera to take pictures of things, places and spaces that you like. You will have them handy, on your phone, for reference and inspiration. For example, you are shopping and you see a rug that you like, take a quick picture of it. You can pull this picture up when you are home, compare to other colors, items in the room and decide how you think it will look. You could also take a picture of the room that you are decorating so that you have it on hand while shopping.
Grocery Shopping – Shopping for groceries can be made easier with the use of your cell phone camera. Before leaving your home, take a quick picture of the inside of your fridge. While you are shopping you have your fridge at your finger tips. Do I have any milk? Just pull out your phone and check! You can also use your cell phone camera to take pictures of recipes and ingredient list, for quick reference!
